We believe that DeFi is the future — it is inevitable. The adoption of BTC by El Salvador now means that crypto undeniably has a foot in the door. Presently, DeFi just seems like a novelty to many. Concepts such as collateralised crypto loans seem pointless to most people when you must put up 3–4x the loan amount as collateral. TradFi has the advantage here, as things like credit scores allow for loans/mortgages etc to be taken with next to no collateral compared to the borrowed amount.

Additionally, most loans charge an interest rate. For example, if we were to…

Trading is more than what meets the eye and trading is not just about being able to read price charts, understand support and resistance and look for trading opportunities with a high reward:risk ratio.

You don’t have competition and you only have one enemy as a trader: yourself.

Trading is like a mirror and all your strengths and weaknesses are directly projected back at you and at your account balance.

If you are impatient in your life, chances are that you’ll also be impatient when it comes to waiting for trades or staying long enough in profitable trades.

When you…

Bitcoin today must appear as something of a quandary to the more cautious investor. Out of nowhere it has exploded onto the scene, and in the course of a decade has gone from strength to strength. And yet it seems so volatile as to defy any standard of valuation with which investors might feel they better understand it — they’re more often than not left wondering if it’s just a super speculative bubble, ‘all noise and fury signifying nothing’. Though no doubt it has certainly appeared to be that at times, and especially on the lengthy corrections, this article will…

The value of most assets you can own is a total lie.

My thoughts about money have radically changed recently. One core idea has been at the heart of my financial transformation.

The value of most assets you can own is a total lie.

What do I mean? Real estate looks like it’s going up in value. Stock prices look like they’re going nuts and minting millionaires. Gold looks like it may make a return and help be the safe-haven asset again for tough times like recessions. Then Raoul Pal and Michael Saylor, two incredibly smart financial gurus, slapped me in the face through Youtube.

We’ve got it all wrong.

The value…

Whenever Bitcoin has a bull run, naysayers try to cope with missing the boat by rationalizing why it will fail through “Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt” (FUD). Most of these are completely unsubstantiated, but annoyingly persist as negative narratives Bitcoin must fight against.

If you’re reading this post and expecting a 40 page research report with statistical analysis of Tether then stop here because I’m not going to deliver that. Neither would you have been convinced if I did.

“The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of…

You may recall that from 17 September 2019, the United States Federal Reserve injected massive amounts of liquidity into banks due to a quite abnormal situation on the repo market [1]. The repo market designates a mechanism used by banks to obtain short-term financing. They sell securities they hold in repurchase agreements (repo). For example they place US Treasury bonds or Triple-A company securities in repo overnight, to serve as warranty or collateral for the loan they are making, and they buy them back on the following day. In exchange for these securities, they obtain cash at a rate of…

If you are comfortable lending in Euros, British Pounds, or Dollars, then why would you bother lending cryptocurrencies too? Crypto P2P lending is about more choices for both borrowers and lenders. You are taking advantage of the P2P matchmaking that platforms like Mintos or VIAInvest do but with one major difference. You get the added benefits of digital, programmable money that are cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum, too.

With crypto lending, investors have more options and more ways to earn interest. You can lend USD and get Bitcoin, or you can lend Tether (USDT) and earn Ethereum. …

As if the crippling fines and destroyed reputations of the banks weren’t enough to stop the rigging forever, 200 chat rooms have been discovered with traders fixing FX rates once again.

It is almost unbelievable how short people’s memories are. Either that or how brazen and bold some people in some capacities can be.

Just a few years have passed since American, Swiss and British authorities came down like a pile of bricks on a number of large Tier 1 banks for fixing FX benchmark rates, largely by operating cartels between trading desks, and sharing information via messaging systems in…

It is not widely realised that the EU concept is on its last legs. The bureaucratic inefficiencies and bad leadership were fully exposed last week over the inability of the EU to distribute vaccines and the attempts to blame everyone else. But a larger problem is hidden in the euro structure, comprised of banking and TARGET2 settlement systems.

This article discusses the precarious financial position of the commercial banks and the gaming of the TARGET2 system by national regulators to hide bad debts. …
